Customs and Legal Associate

We are looking to hire a Customs and Legal Associate to join us in our mission to educate the world. The successful candidate shall be responsible for performing all custom clearance activities related to the Free Zone regulations, shipments, and documents with the freight forwarders, such as transaction documents, documents for day-to-day activities, and any legal documents required in accordance with Nagwa’s objectives, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Participating in the development of the customs clearance work plan, preparing work schedules, and expediting workflow to improve efficiency of the customs clearance process
  • Preparing supporting documents required for clearance and ensuring their compliance with the Free Zone regulations and exemption list requirements
  • Requesting and compiling necessary import documentation for the Free Zone, such as customs invoices, certificates of origin, and cargo control documents
  • Following up with the transporters to ensure the complete delivery of cleared shipments on time and coordinating with the Free Zone representative
  • Verifying the delivery of imported products once cleared from the Free Zone gate to our premises or warehouses
  • Preparing periodic reports with activities and achievements to be submitted to the management
  • Having complete knowledge to prepare and confirm all import permits from the Free Zone office and all import custom exemption documents, formats, and formalities
  • Dealing with the Real Estate Registration Authority to obtain the necessary power of attorney
  • Completing all procedures with the Commercial Registry - General Authority for Investment and preparing for and registering the General Assembly meeting and the minutes of the board of directors
  • Dealing with the Tax Authority in any documents required for the company, including the renewal of the tax card
  • Extracting the commercial register from the General Authority for Investment whenever needed
  • Dealing with government agencies to complete all required legal documents whenever needed
  • Undertaking any other responsibilities and requests made by the top management

Qualifications & Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (certification in customs clearance is preferred)
  • 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Good command of both English and Arabic
