Arabic Curator and Editor (Children's Literature)
We are looking to hire an Arabic Curator and Editor to join us in our journey to educate the world and instill a love of reading among children and youth. The successful candidate shall be responsible for curating and reviewing Arabic literary fiction for children.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Finding and selecting books and stories targeting children and young readers that match our editorial and publishing policy and communicating with the publishing houses to acquire them
- Curating and evaluating fiction books from the public domain and presenting the books to specialists for counselling and evaluation
- Adjusting a curated library according to feedback based on text analysis and readability metrics
- Revising books information pages and writing blurbs and abstracts
- Categorizing books by age group and grade and coordinating with internal teams to ensure quality and adherence to category standards
- Working with illustrators and graphic designers to come up with illustrations most fitting with the text
QUALIFICATIONS & WORK EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in literature or humanities or any relevant field
- Excellent command of both English and Arabic, with good writing skills
- 1+ years of experience in a similar role
- Experience curating and editing content for children and young readers
