Finance Manager
We are looking to hire a Finance Manager to join us in our mission to educate the world. The successful candidate shall be responsible for providing strategic and financial guidance to ensure that the company’s financial commitments are efficiently met. By developing the annual budget as well as a longer-term budget for the company and guide the management and the allocation of resources and coordinate comprehensive financial management support for overseas offices and company subsidiaries.
Responsibilities

Create strategic business plans based on the analysis of the company’s status and financial forecasts

Assisting the management in the formulation of its overall strategic direction

Providing advice and guidance in terms of financial strategies to be deployed complying with company overall goals and objectives

Advising on investment activities and provide strategies that the company should take

Participate in strategic data analysis, research, and modelling for senior company leadership

Investigate ways to improve profitability and analyse markets for business opportunities, such as expansion, mergers, and acquisitions

Analyse financial activities and provide advice and guidance to upper management on future financial plans

Overseeing operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met

Correspond with various other departments, discussing company plans and agreeing on future paths to be taken

Drive improvements of processes, systems, and reporting to provide more transparency and visibility into current and future financial results

Ensure the compliance with tax laws and regulations and assure tax inspections of all taxes in different countries

Control the intercompany relationships and international taxation to assure best utilization of double tax treaty between countries

Assures protection of business assets through internal control system

Manage the production of consolidated reporting tools and key performance metrics to provide management insight into revenue and operating expense trends, track project spending, headcount, and potential risks/opportunities to forecast or plan

Actively participate in Nagwa’s expansion (opening subsidiaries in different countries) by studying counties' rules and regulations, taxes laws, opening new bank accounts, etc.

Providing financial reports and interpreting financial information to managerial staff while recommending and formulating strategic and long-term business plans

Supervising the preparation, monitoring, and control of the annual budget ensuring that actual deviations are identified and proper recommendations for rectification are provided

Monitoring and directing accounting activities including general ledger, receivables, payables, assets, and inventory to make sure that proper controls are incorporated and implemented, and that accounting information is accurately captured, classified, and recorded

Liaising with HR to recruit, develop and manage the appraisal of Finance employees to ensure that the department has the necessary expertise base, skills, and competencies and that staff are optimally motivated and enabled to realize their potential and contribution

Managing the performance of direct reports and providing them with all the necessary support to achieve organizational and individual objective

Forecasting cash flow positions, related borrowing needs, and available funds for investment

Reporting to management the variances from the established budget, and the reasons behind them
-
Conducting reviews and evaluations for cost reduction opportunities
-
Engaging in benchmarking studies to establish areas of potential operational improvement
-
Interpreting the company's financial results reports to management and recommend improvement activities
-
Developing financial management mechanisms that minimize financial risk
-
Liaise with auditors to ensure annual monitoring is being carried out while developing and implementing an internal audit program to ensure that the company complies with predefined financial procedures and regulations

Developing external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g., auditors, solicitors, and bankers
-
Continuously improving departmental performance by introducing new, applicable, profitable ideas and initiatives and creative problem solutions
Qualifications & Work Experience

A minimum of bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting

Postgraduate study is a plus (CFA/CPA is preferable)

10-15 years of relevant experience focused on functional support, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and modelling
-
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Finance Manager
-
Multinational experience is a must
-
Demonstrated experience driving business performance and process improvements
-
Extensive understanding of financial trends both within the company and general market patterns

Expert knowledge of accounting standards – FAS or similar standards
-
Expert knowledge of financial analysis tools and methods
-
Knowledge of finance, tax, and relevant laws and regulations
-
Excellent command of written and spoken English
