We are looking to hire Data Engineer to join us in our mission to educate the world. The successful candidate shall be responsible for transforming enormous amounts of raw data into a format that can be easily processed and analyzed to provide an accurate and instant understanding of our business by using the latest technologies and the best practices in the data engineering field.

Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders as well as the Product and Business Teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs

  • Ensure building the required infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation, and data loading from a wide variety of data sources using AWS big data technologies

  • Improve databases and data collection systems and undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data

  • Evaluate and improve data quality by implementing test cases, alerts, and data quality safeguards.

  • Work with data to solve business problems and build and maintain the infrastructure to answer the stakeholders’ questions and improve our processes

  • Determine and use analytical tools that utilize and visualize data and report this to provide actionable insights

Qualifications & Work Experience

  • 1 to 5 years of relevant experience in a relevant position

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer software, information technology, or any relevant discipline

  • Familiarity with AWS (AWS Redshift, AWS Glue, AWS S3, AWS kinesis and Data Lake) is a necessity

  • Background in data warehouse design (e.g., dimensional modeling) and data mining

  • Experience with reporting tools like Tableau, AWS QuickSight, Looker, and Power BI is a necessity

  • Good knowledge of programming languages
