Arabic Translation Reviewer (Children's Literature)
We are looking to hire an Arabic Translation Reviewer to join us in our journey to educate the world and instill a love of reading among children and youth. The successful candidate shall be responsible for performing post-translation reviewing and editing of fiction and nonfiction content translated from English to Arabic targeting children and young readers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reviewing the target text by comparing it to the source text, ensuring the Arabic text is logically structured, is easy to read, adheres to the source, and is in the correct style for the intended audience
- Revising and editing translations to ensure that they conform to the set standards and Nagwa's in-house style guidelines
- Using specialized dictionaries, thesauruses, and reference books to find the closest equivalents for terminology, words, and idioms used
- Correcting factual, logical, spelling, and grammatical errors
- Aligning the structure and style of translations with our quality standards and verifying conformity
- Conducting training and feedback sessions for translators to enhance their performance
QUALIFICATIONS & WORK EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in translation and linguistics or any other relevant field
- 5+ years of experience in translation and revision, preferably of children's books and stories
- Excellent command of both English and Arabic, with good writing skills
- Excellent knowledge of translation and editing techniques
