Legal Affairs Manager

Egypt Full time Administration In-office

We are looking to hire a Legal Affairs Manager to join us in our mission to educate the world. The successful candidate shall be responsible for all Nagwa’s legal affairs, ensuring statutory compliance with existing law and regulatory requirements and introducing legal advice to our different departments.

Responsibilities

  • Handling and reviewing Nagwa’s legal activities including drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements or other legal documents, and various regulations
  • Identifying and addressing potential legal issues and risks for current activities, operations and strategic initiatives and managing litigation
  • Representing the company before all governmental and public bodies concerning obligations, rights, contracts, and legal procedures related to the company's business
  • Ensuring the compliance with existing law and regulatory requirements
  • Controlling and following-up of current contracts to avoid governmental fines
  • Working closely with all teams in case they require legal support or advice for handling business
  • Reviewing any complaints and inquiries that are sent to the Legal department
  • Preparing periodic reports including all achievements, obstacles, and solutions of the legal affairs department to ensure a continuous improvement
  • Carrying on the required legal investigations and takes whatever procedures, recommendations, or decisions according to the labour law and the company’s policy
  • Providing legal assistance to the Human Resources team for employment matters and contract to draft for employment and other related matters
  • Reviewing and providing opinion on the structuring of the new business transactions & related documentation
  • Interacting with external lawyers and consultants and seeking their opinion on complex issues of pending and critical legal matters
  • Providing legal advice to the management, different business units, and branches on International, Egyptian Commercial Business Laws, labour laws etc and provide legal guidance
  • Keeping up to date with all applicable national/international laws across the countries with the business exists
  • Participating in the process of establishing new branches internationally and ensuring compliance with the international laws and regulatory requirements
  • Completing all procedures with a notary, commercial register, and general authority for investment -GAFI- and preparation and registration of the General Assembly meeting and the minutes of the board of directors
  • Undertaking any other responsibilities requests made by the top Management

Qualifications & Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law 
  • Master of Laws (business law/corporate law/commercial law) is preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Corporate Experience is a must
  • Proven professionality in handling lawsuits and litigations
  • Experience in review legal letters, contracts, and agreements and monitor legal obligations under agreements
  • International accreditation and diplomas are a plus
  • Labour law experience
  • Admitted to the Bar Association and currently registered practicing attorney in Egypt
  • Excellent command of the English and Arabic language
